Old McDonald had a what?!

Today we ventured across the bridge into Indiana. We arrived at Huber's Family Fun park with 36 very eager and excited children. We divided into our groups, so that we could enjoy the park a little more. A few groups ate lunch while others road the tiny sized tractors. They seemed to really enjoy their time
on the tractors. They are battery powered tractors that take a token to operate them. Each camper received one ride. We did have two campers that showed excellent behavior and were helping more than the other campers. Those two campers received and extra ride on the tractors for their outstanding job.

After the tractor rides, lunch, petting zoo, play time on the GIANT slides, mazes and more we took a leasurely stroll up to the ice cream parlor. We all got to pick our favorite flavor of ice cream then sat down in the wonderful Air conditioning to enjoy our treat. It was very hot outside today, so the break from outdoors was very nice.

We had several compliments on how well behaved we were while at Huber's today. I had many adults ask how old the campers were and were amazed when I gave them the age group. They said they couldn't believe how well behaved the kids were, especially for their age. THANK YOU, to my amazing staff and well-mannered campers! We wouldn't get those compliments if it weren't for you.

On the lengthy bus ride home, we had a few children who just couldnt hold those eyes open. The heat and amount of exercise from the days events wore them out. I hope that they were able to get to sleep tonight after their mid-day nap.

Once we arrived back to the camp site, we immediately had snack. These kiddos have been a hungry bunch. I am thankful they are always ready for water because it's been extremely hot already this summer.

There is always water available in the coolers at all times during the day. Your child is also able to bring a water bottle if they wish to have their own. We will re-fill it will ice cold water through out the day. Hydration is one of our priorities at camp.

To end the day we separated back into our groups. We each had some inside time. We rotated from craft, indoor games and centers in the room. After being outdoors all morning and some of the afternoon, we decided it would be good to be inside for a little bit. During game time the children played a version of hot potato and you could hear laughter/singing up and down the hallway. At art center we got to draw our favorite part of the day while at Huber's. The pictures will be available to take home tomorrow. And the last rotation was centers in the room. The children were given an opportunity to enjoy the toys that are in each center in the room.

I hope you parents had a good day at work! We enjoyed keeping your children company. Don't forget tomorrow is swimming at the Y. Wear your swimsuit, tennis shoes and sunscreen to camp. Please bring an extra set of clothing (including underwear) for after swim time. Have a great night!
